Domain Registration

You can reserve your unique domain name today and start using it whenever you are ready. Keep in mind that the majority of search engines, like Google and Yahoo, take into account a domain name`s age when indexing the website thus older domain names have a higher chance of a good rank. Another tip is to register your domain name for a longer period as search engines would think you are in it for the long haul. We recommend that you make the best out of your domain name investment!

Domain FAQ:

How do I register my domain name?

Familiarhosting.com offers domain registration for all generic top level domains (.com, .net, .org) as well as international domain extensions for approximately 1,000 countries around the world. To register your domain name, simply navigate to our homepage and enter your desired domain in the search box. If the name is available, you may add it to your cart and begin the checkout and registration process. Registration with familiarhosting.com requires that you create an account, so if you do not already one, you will be prompted to create one. If you do have an account, you will be asked to login. From there, follow the step-by-step process to complete your domain registration.

How long or short can a domain name be and what are the restrictions?

Most domain names have a minimum of 2 and a maximum 63 characters, including the extension (.com, .net, .org). A domain name may contain numbers (0-9), letters (a-z) or dashes (-).
    A domain name may not:
  • Begin or end with a dash (-).
  • Contain special characters, such as(! @#$%&? ~: _)
  • Have a dash (-) in the third and/or fourth positions.
  • Note: Many extensions allow non-ASCII characters to be used; for more information, please refer to our section on Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs).

Will my name and contact information be publicly available?

To allow for rapid resolution of technical problems and enforcement of consumer protections, trademark, and other laws, domain registrant information may be made publicly available by default through Familiarhosting’s WhoIs service on generic TLDs. Contact us for information regarding Private Domain Registration on generic TLDs.
Note: The Whois data for International ccTLD (country code top-level domain) domain names is limited or unavailable in some countries. Because the data displayed is regulated by each individual country, we cannot guarantee its accuracy.

How long does it take to register a domain name?

The domain registration starts processing as soon as 101domain.com receives the completed registration form and payment. The registration process for gTLDs (generic top level domains; e.g. .com, .net, .org) takes minutes, but the process for international domain names will take longer (consult the each individual extension page to find out the registration time frame). Your card will NOT be charged until the domain restrictions have been met and the domain is available for registration. Each domain in your order may appear on your credit card as an individual charge. A confirmation e-mail is sent to the domain name's administrative and billing contacts with the details of the domain registration. NOTE: The zone files are updated every 24-48 hours

How do I renew my domain registration?

If familiarhosting.com is the Registrar for your domain name, you can renew and extend the registration term for your domain at any time by logging into the my.101domain.com area of our website and clicking on the "Renew Domain" link from the side menu. Domains can be renewed and extended for periods of one to ten years.
